Service Description

Comprehensive breastfeeding consultation including ultrasound therapy treatment of mastitis or blocked ducts. Therapeutic ultrasound is treatment for mastitis and ductal narrowing (sometimes called plugged ducts) using high frequency sounds waves to create movement, warmth and increased blood flow to reduce swelling and inflammation. Ultrasound therapy is most effective when applied in short sessions on two to three consecutive days. This consultation fee includes the initial appointment. Additional follow up is available as requested and will incur additional fees. The consult may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if you are within 6 weeks of birth and you are Medicare eligible. The average Medicare rebate is $90. Rebates are governed by Services Australia and are outside of my control.
