Breastfeeding Consult: Home Visit

Service Description

The breastfeeding consultation includes taking a comprehensive history of both you and your baby/babies. We will look at your baby’s growth, weight and general wellbeing. When appropriate, we will observe a breastfeed together and discuss how feeding is going. There will be time to discuss your concerns and feeding goals. By the end of this consult, we will have some strategies to address any concerns and improve feeding. Ideally, baby will be ready to feed around the time of the consultation, so that we can observe a feed together. Some common breastfeeding issues that we can assist with: • Pain • Latching issues • Milk Supply • Breast development / surgery • Engorgement • Mastitis • Premature Baby • Multiple Birth • Unwell Baby • Cleft lip / palate • Down Syndrome • Special Needs • Inducing lactation & Relactation • Adoption • Lactation after infant loss This consultation fee includes the initial appointment and 1 text message or phone call follow-up if needed. I am a health professional who will provide safe and supportive care for all family, birthing and feeding preferences. I am a proud member of Homebirth Queensland and the ACON Welcome Here Project. I provide Lactation Consultant home visits to families on the North side of Brisbane. I regularly visit suburbs within 20km of North Lakes such as: Mango Hill, Rothwell, Deception Bay, Narangba, Burpengary, Morayfield, Kippa Ring, Redcliffe, Scarborough, Margate, Woody Point, Brighton, Sandgate, Dakabin, Kurwongbah, Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, Petrie, Joyner, Whiteside, Warner, Bray Park, Strathpine, Brendale, Nudgee, Bald Hills, Carseldine, Taigum and other nearby suburbs. I also visit suburbs 20 - 30km of North Lakes such as: Caboolture, Elimbah, Moodlu, Wamuran, Bellmere, Ocean View, Dayboro, Samsonvale, Mount Samson, Cedar Creek, Samford, Ferny Hills, Arana Hills, Kedron, Keperra, Everton Park, Stafford, Northgate and other nearby suburbs. If your suburb is not listed and it is within the appropriate travel radius please feel free to book online. Often regional areas do not have a local Lactation Consultant available for Home Visits.
